Lindy-Westie Evening Dances

The popular West Coast Swing and Lindy Hop dances on weekday evenings return to the beating heart of Turku's student scene: the famous Proffan Kellari bar.

The evening dances are an informal, no-entrance fee, low-threshold event organised by the society and held in the upstairs cabinet of Proffa's Kellari (Rehtorinpellonkatu 6, Turku). During the evening we will play music of both dance genres according to the wishes of the participants. Please note that the room has a tiled floor with seams, which may not be the cleanest. We recommend saving your best leather dance shoes for better floors!

The dates for the evening dances are:

  • Mon 23.9. 18.30-21
  • Mon 7.10. 19.30-21.30
  • Fri 25.10. 18-21
  • Fri 8.11. 18-21
  • Fri 29.11. 18-21
  • Course season ending party: Fri 13.12. at 18.15-21 (at 18 Autumn meeting)

West Coast Swing party

Turku Swing Society spoils West Coast Swing dancers with a series of parties this fall. There will be five WCS parties about once a month: August 24th, September 7th, October 10th, November 16th, and December 7th at Bolero, Moon Dance Studio and KDC.

The first party (24.8.) is free for all!

Before the parties, there is a full-length course throughout the fall: Goal-oriented training course (TTK). The parties start at 18 after the course and continue until around 21–22.
